Senator Udoma Udo Udoma Now Pro-Chancellor of AKSU

A new Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Ikot Akpaden, Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, has been appointed. He is Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, Nigeria’s former Minister of Budget and National Planning under the first term of President Muhammadu Buhari.  A statement signed by Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State government, on Tuesday, says that Senator Udoma’s appointment by the state government follows the stepping aside of Engr. Samuel E. Inyang, OON, the erstwhile Pro-Chancellor AKSU.

The statement by Dr. Ekuwem, states that Senator Udoma’s appointment takes immediate effect.

Senator Udoma, scion of the late famous jurist, Justice Egbert Udo Udoma, hails from Ikot Abasi Local Government Area. A lawyer by profession, he was a two term senator representing Akwa Ibom South (Eket) Senatorial District from 1999 to 2007.
