A suspected armed robber, Kufre Aniefiok Akpan, has run out of luck in Nung Oku, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The alleged robbery kingpin, who has confessed to being a cultist, was apprehended at approximately 4:55 am on Saturday, September 6, 2025, by a police surveillance team on an intensive stop-and-search operation at the Nung Oku roundabout, located by Ring Road 3, within Uyo capital city.
This was contained in a press release issued in Uyo by DSP Timfon John, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Akwa Ibom State Police Command, on Monday, September 8, 2025.
According to the PPRO, the said Kufre Aniefiok Akpan, a male from a village in Itu Local Government Area, was subjected to a search.
“The search led to the recovery of a cut-to-size double-barrel shotgun, two live cartridges, and various items suspected to be charms.
“During interrogation, Akpan confessed to being an active member of the ‘Sky Low’ secret cult,” she stated.

DSP John said the investigation into the matter is ongoing, and that further developments will be made known to the public as events unfold.
