Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council has admonished aspirants to toe the path of peace as the primary and general elections are fast approaching.
The apex traditional institution advised during the consultation visit of Barr Onofiok Luke, held at Akwa Ibom State Council of Chiefs chambers at Barracks Road, Uyo, on Wednesday.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional institution, the Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General, His Eminence Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk called on aspirants vying for different public offices to ensure a peaceful atmosphere while campaigning for their aspirations.
” We, as Royal Fathers love all the aspirants and it is our earnest desire for aspirants to toe the path of peace as they campaign for their diverse aspirations so that there will be peace across the 31 Local Government Areas in the state.

As a council, we solely believe in togetherness, unity and peace and on this note, Akwa Ibom indigenes must give peace a chance and avoid any form of violence that might cause havoc in the state.”
Oku Ibom Ibibio applauded Barr Onofiok Luke for being an agent of peace and admonished him to walk according to God’s will to sustain his relevance in government.
Earlier, the governorship aspirant and member representing Etinan Federal Constituency, Barr Onofiok Luke said he has the experience to be governor having handled sensitive positions in the state and has always discharged his responsibilities effectively.
While applauding the kind disposition Oku Ibom Ibibio has shown towards aspirants, Luke pledged his commitment to providing human capacity development, tackling insecurities and providing social amenities across the 31 Local Government Areas in the state if he is allowed to serve the people as their governor.
Meanwhile, the Royal Fathers prayed for God to grant the heart desires of the governorship aspirant as he campaigns for his gubernatorial race.
Dignitaries in attendance included the Amazing Grace Campaign team and about 25 Paramount Rulers in the state.
