United Friends Association Inaugurates New Members In Uyo

Members of the United Friends Association, UFA, have been charged to see themselves as agents of development, progress and love in society, hence, it is incumbent on them to use their position to better the condition of others who may need their services at a particular time.

Administering the oath of office to inaugurate the newly elected members of the association recently in Uyo, the chairman of the election committee, Mr. Aniefiok Monday, opined that the United Friends Association was established with the mandate to enhance the economic, social and political well-being of our people in the society.

He passionately appealed to members to see their new assignment as a call to humanitarian service.

Comrade Udeme Idioh was inaugurated as the chairman of the United Friends Association for a second time; others were Uduak Okon, Vice-Chairman, Anthony George Utuk, Secretary General and Mr Solomon Udo, treasurer.

Also inaugurated were, Gideon Umoh, Financial Secretary, and Victor Bassey, welfare officer, while, Adamu Balla was induced as the patron of the Association.

Responding on behalf of other executive members, the Chairman of the United Friends Association, Comrade Udeme Idioh, appreciated members for entrusting him with their mandate to lead the Association for the next four years.

He promised to run an all-inclusive administration that will bring peace, unity, love and development to the group.

“As the head of UFA, I will lead with the fear of God; give every member his/her pride of place in the association; introduce ideas that will enhance the profile of UFA and its members.

“The association will always support Government policies at all levels; let me use this occasion to appreciate our amiable Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno for his style of leadership which has endeared him to many people, including his detractors. I pray God to continue to direct him aright”. Mr Idioh said.

Other speakers at the event were the chairman of VIP, Pastor Ubong Edet (Inibehe), Elder Eniang Idorenyin (Owo Uyo), and others.

United Friends Association has been running several charity and philanthropic programmes by donating food and other valuable materials to orphanage homes and people in the State, as it is a social, economic and political organization.
