Uyo Feast Of Splendour Opens On Monday, Oct 24

All is now set for the much-awaited Uyo Feast of Splendour – an entertainment package by Offot Ukwa Festival of Arts and Culture, Offot Ukwa Clan, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to kick off on Monday, October 24, 2022.

A statement signed by the chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Akparawa Elder Patrick Albert and Secretary, Mrs Nkereuwem Archibong said the six-day cultural fiesta, to be held at the Unity Park/Ibibio Museum, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State, will end on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

To kick-start the festival, the Offot Ukwa Clan will hold a Dedication/Thanksgiving Service at The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Eniong Offot Assembly, 23 Udo Ekpo Mkpo Street, off Nwaniba Road, Uyo on Sunday, October 23, 20220.

In the statement, the organisers said the weeklong festival has the motto; “Celebrating Unity & Cultural Legacy” with the theme: “Offot Ukwa Festival 2022: Utilizing Arts and Culture for Socio-economic & Political Growth.”

The festival will be multi-content, covering various areas of arts, culture and sports such as Music, Dance, Beauty Pageants, Ballard, Cultural performances, and Traditional and Modern Sports. Our maiden ensemble, Offot Ukwa Unity Mass Choir will also feature.

The Chief host and royal father of the ceremony is His Royal Majesty, Edidem Sylvanus Effiong Okon, while eminent sons of Uyo will serve as special guests of honour at the event which will have cultural troupes and artists from within and outside the State participate, just as Nigerian and foreign tourists will also be attending the carnival.

The statement, therefore, invites all to the carnival, which will offer the Offot Ukwa Clan, Akwa Ibom State and participants, the unique platform to showcase the enormous cultural, arts and tourism potentials – as a way of creating socio-economic opportunities and due patronage.
