In the heart of the Nigerian city of Uyo lies a sought after hospitality haven.

A household name exuding ingenuity, confidence, class, intellectualism and integrity, Watbridge Hotels and Suites is steadily redefining hospitality business in the Nigerian clime.

Watbridge Hotels and Suites

It would be absurd for an Akwa Ibom resident not to have heard of, or have had a feel of the Watbridge experience in the past two years.

A resident of other towns or cities in Nigeria who is yet to have a grasp of the brand is likely to do so in no distant time as the hospitality hotspot keeps playing host to national guests and functions on regular basis – a rarity in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria.

The brand’s diligence is also earning global attention as a good percentage of foreigners thronging the state for business or leisure now prefer lodging or having their events held at Watbridge.

The brand is housed by pieces of architectural brilliance. Besides its imposing and well-designed structures, Watbridge’s spacious vicinity, serenity, amazing landscape, eagle-eye security, exclusivity and amiable mien offer guests a sense of safeness and comfort.

A step beyond the surface lets one into the reality that Watbridge offers global standard hospitality without raising the patronage bar beyond persons belonging to certain societal strata.

Everyone is entitled to the Watbridge treat with a guarantee of exclusivity and candour. Watbridge bears the imprints of communality. This is best illustrated by its rooms. Its spacious and neat rooms come in different forms and rates. They have Classic Room, Deluxe Room, Executive Room, Diplomatic Room, Family Room, Royal Suite, Emperor Suite, Emperor Majesty Suite, and the Presidential Suite.

Do you need outdoor relaxation before or after checking into your room or suite? If yes, you have an array of options to choose from. The super poolside is one of the places to be at Watbridge. The olympic-sized swimming pool is immaculately clean and well secure. You may choose to have a dip in the water, or sit by it, gulp a drink, sip varieties of smoothie, eat pizza, sharwama, or any other edibles of your choice. You may as well venture into the ‘Village Square’ to have local delicacies, bush meat, palm wine, among others.

How about having a desire for shopping? Such is taken care of at Watbridge as there is a well-stocked gifts shop with affordable items for your delight.

There’s also free WiFi connection for customers, gym and cyber café which operates round the clock.

Wanna have a meal? No worries! Watbridge has a restaurant where local and continental meals are served.

The Underground night club, called The Bridge Lounge, is one of the popular features at Watbridge. Located 16 feet below the earth, the club is a onestop destination for fun seekers.

Watbridge balances leisure and fun with intellectualism. A well-stocked library named after legendary writer, Ngugi Wa Thiong’o, is housed in a detached storey building standing just few metres into the premises. It comes in tow with Internet facilities to aid online research. The hotel library is a unique feature in the hotel; in fact, a rarity in Nigerian hospitality.

Watbridge Hotels Uyo

The famous Uyo Book Club is hosted at the hotel. The club which has Watbridge advisor, Dr. Ekong Sampson, as patron, converges on the last Saturdays of every month at the famed Shakespeare Room of the hotel. The book club is an avenue for professionals in different fields and young persons to review literary works as well as brainstorm on positive ideas for the uplift of the society. It was founded by Dr. Udeme Nana, a scholar of no mean repute.

For your event needs? Worry not as Watbridge has arguably the best set of facilities for the purpose. There is the 800-capacity Mandela Hall replete with a lodging facility equipped with a café for resource persons.

Lugard Terrace is 200-capacity, City View Hall is 100-capacity, Poolside Arena too is a 150-capacity outdoor, same as the underground lounge, while the Shakespeare Room has a 60-capacity space.

Watbridge Uyo

With almost 200 direct employees on its payroll, Watbridge is not relenting in expanding its workforce. A full-fledged pharmacy opens soon. The hotel’s farm which supplies the hotel with agro products is stirring.

Our tour guide at the hotel, Samuel Udoma, a notable PR expert in town, explained every component and aspects of the hotel with ease and insight of one who knows the master plan and direction of the company.

Speaking, the general manager of the hotel, Otunba Sunday Ajayi, linked the Watbridge success to a visionary plan coupled with ample experience in the hospitality sector, adding that the management team would continue exploring and implementing postive strategies to propel the hotel beyond its current standard.

He hinted that more can be achieved in the tourism and hospitality industry if there is substantial investment in the sector by relevant authorities.

Ajayi also suggested that natural and historical sites in the state be preserved in order to rake in revenue for the state.

Located at 11a/b IBB Avenue, Uyo, this strategic location adds to its growing list of advantages.

Watbridge is indeed the new bride of the hospitality and tourism industry courted by virtually everyone who has taste for quality.
