We Must Always Work Together For Common Good – Gov Eno

... Says Progressive Movement Divinely Ordained

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reiterated that the ‘progressive’ movement of the people of the State to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is divinely ordained and anchored on the need to work together for the common good of the State.

Speaking at the June edition of the Government House Prayer Meeting held at the Latter House Chapel, Government House, Uyo, the Governor said there was much gain for a people to work together, rather than work at cross purposes.

He said the movement is to link the State to the centre, for greater gains, adding that there were things the State cannot achieve without closing ranks with the Federal Government through the alignment.

The Governor, who acknowledged that it was neither an easy nor hasty decision to take, said every leader is expected to decide at time, as doing otherwise could be harmful to the people.

He said it was important for the State to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio to attract democracy dividends to the State.

The Governor assured that the current movement does not distort the State economic development blueprint, the ARISE Agenda, as it remains the singular and official blueprint of government and the ARISE uniform remains its symbol of unity.

Governor Eno called on all Christians, especially the fathers in faith, not to be distraught or stand aloof, but to remain involved and continue to pray for the wisdom to lead the State aright.

He appreciated everyone for turning out to be part of the meeting, which he said has spiritually prepared the State for the grand reception into the APC billed later in the day at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

Speaking on the theme “Ye Have Dwelt Too Long in This Mountain” drawn from Deuteronomy 1:6-8, Rev Emmanuel Isangedighi of the United Evangelical Church, said that leadership is a responsibility which sometimes demands taking tough decisions for the overall interest of all.

He noted that though Governor Eno’s administration has touched lives across all sectors, it was time for the Governor to take Akwa Ibom to the promised land.

Rev Isangedighi described the ‘progressive’ movement of the State as strategic and divinely ordained for the State to possess what had been predestined for it, and admonished Christians to remain in the place of prayer for God to grant the Governor wisdom and guidance.
