The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has felicitated with officers of All Progressives Congress (APC) and that of Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum (ADF) in the spirit of the yuletide.
The event which took place at the palatial pavillion of his country home in Ukana, Essien Udim LGA, witnessed the Senator in an ecstatic mood, dancing and jubilating with the mammoth crowd of APC and ADF leaders in Akwa Ibom State.
Senator Akpabio said the essence of the meeting was for him to celebrate the birth of Christ with the party executives and ADF leaders and wish them happy New Year in advance.
The former of Akwa Ibom State also conveyed the warm felicitations of President Muhammadu Buhari to the good people of Akwa Ibom State.

Senator Akpabio advised party faithful to let go of the past and get prepared for the future, adding “do not forget yesterday is gone forever, today is here and tomorrow we can have. We can no longer have yesterday. Yesterday is gone forever but we can plan for tomorrow. The journey of tomorrow is like a journey of a thousand miles, it begins with a step and that step is this your gathering.
“I don’t know any other politics except politics of the people. That is why wherever I go, my reception is beyond party line because all I know is about the people. My politics is about the people”, he said.
The Chairman-elect of APC in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Stephen Ntukekpo said, “This evening is very unique in the sense that the Grand Leader of our dear State decided to bring together these members of APC. For me, it is a great manifestation of the fact that what he has done this evening is simply an epitome of peace, love and unity”. Mr Ntukekpo, on behalf of the APC family in Akwa Ibom State, prayed for more grace for the Senator and asked God to grant the desires of his heart.
The Director General of Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum, Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo said he was given the notification for the meeting within 12 hours and members of the party across the state were mobilized within that period for the event.

“Come 2023, we are giving you the assurance that from the ward level to the National Assembly will be our own and ADF will do that. This is your dream child and you cannot dream wrongly and you have seen what has come out of it”.
According to Ekpo, ”We celebrate you the more when we see you being celebrated in other states because they have equally seen something uncommon in you, and we are ready for you”.
Obonganwan Geraldine Etuk described the Senator as “a very good man, a man after God’s heart and a man God has sent to us here in Akwa Ibom. Anyone that hates you does not love God, and on behalf of the women, I thank you for gathering us”.
The APC Youth leader elect, Mr Clement Anwantin commended Senator Akpabio for changing the worldview of Akwa Ibom and re-orienting the psyche of the average Akwa Ibom person.
Anwantin identified the free and compulsory education introduced in the state by the Senator when he was the governor as a legacy that posterity would not forget.
The event which was attended by stakeholders of APC witnessed the Senator doling out cash gifts and food items to party faithful across the 31 Local Government Areas of the state.
