Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2025, was a day of joy and celebration in Eastern Nsit Ward 4 as the people of Ndon Ikot Itie Udung Village and neighbouring communities gathered at the residence of the Chairman of Nsit Atai LGA, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong to share the festive season with him.
The event was a heartwarming display of unity, gratitude, and community spirit, capturing the true essence of Yuletide.
From early morning, residents, young and old, converged from all villages in the ward. The atmosphere was alive with music, laughter, and rhythmic dances, while tables filled with delicious food and drinks reflected the generosity of a leader who has consistently prioritised the welfare of his people.

In his address, Hon. Nyong thanked the community for their support for his administration and commended the leadership of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD. He reminded his people that the celebration was not only about the birth of Christ; it was a time to recognize the bond they share, celebrate their achievements, and look forward to continued growth and unity.
The ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries, including Hon Ekpenyong Daniel, President Essien Itiaba Development Association; Hon. Elder Clement Eshiet, Councillor representing Eastern Nsit Ward 4 and Supervisor for Religious Affairs; Hon. Mercy Umoh; Mrs. Ukemeobong Emmanuel, Ward Personal Assistant to the Governor; Engr. Emmanuel Edet, Chief of Staff to the Chairman; and other community leaders. The Chairman’s wife, Mrs. Emem Nyong, stood by his side, adding warmth and familial grace to the occasion.

Speaking on behalf of the people, the Village Head of Ndon Ikot Itie, Chief Nse Effiong Inyang, commended the Council Chairman for his kind gesture. He pointed out that since the chairman assumed office he has shown that governance is about the people. He urged him to continue with his inclusive leadership while affirming the people’s support for his administration.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the Ward Chairman of APC, Mr Henry Tom; the Youth Leader, and Chairman of the Elder’s council, Elder Patrick Umoh, who praised the Chairman’s generosity and urged residents to continue supporting his leadership.
The highlight of the celebration was Hon. Nyong’s donation of N2 million and bags of rice to support attendees. The gesture brought smiles to many faces, embodying the spirit of giving that Christmas represents.
As the day drew to a close, music and laughter filled the air, and the people of Eastern Nsit Ward 4 left the celebration with renewed joy, a strengthened sense of community, and the warmth of knowing their leader cares for them.
