Yuletide: Prince Nyong Hosts Council Staff, Reaffirms Commitment To Workers Welfare

The Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong, has once again demonstrated his people-oriented leadership by hosting council staff to a Christmas celebration where cash gifts and bags of rice were distributed to workers.

The end-of-year prayer/thanksgiving service was held on Monday, 29 December 2025, at the Council Hall and attracted political office holders, directors, and staff of the local government.

Addressing the gathering, the Chairman thanked God for sustaining the council workforce in good health throughout the year, describing the Christmas package as a token of appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of staff in the discharge of their duties. He emphasised that workers’ welfare remains a central priority of his administration.

He encouraged staff to approach their responsibilities with diligence and integrity, reminding them that public service demands accountability and commitment.

“Whether supervised or not, our work speaks for us. Diligence attracts reward, and God honours faithful service,” he stated.

He further urged workers to recommit themselves to effective service in the coming year, assuring them of continued support, recognition for excellence, and improved working conditions. According to him, the near-completion of the new administration block will significantly enhance office accommodation and provide a more conducive working environment.

The council boss also expressed appreciation to political appointees, directors, and staff for their collective efforts, which he said contributed to the achievements recorded by the council. He specifically commended the council’s impressive participation during the Nsit Atai Day celebration at the Christmas Unplugged 3.0 event held on 20 December 2025, attributing the success to unity and teamwork.

He praised the Head of Local Government Service, Mrs Imaobong Antai, for her dedication, creativity, and administrative competence, noting that her experience has been instrumental to the council’s overall effectiveness.

The programme featured prayers, thanksgiving, and a sermon centred on gratitude, during which staff were admonished to cultivate thankful hearts as a pathway to sustained progress and divine favour.

Earlier, the Vice Chairman, Mrs Affiong Amanam, welcomed staff and described the gathering as a moment of thanksgiving for life and divine protection throughout the year, encouraging officers to remain steadfast despite prevailing challenges.

The celebration concluded with special prayers for the Chairman and the council workforce, alongside music, dancing, and fellowship, as staff rounded off the year on a joyful and hopeful note.
