The Akwa Ibom State representative on the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Chief Godswill Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on the occasion of the 2024 Democracy Day celebration.
Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono, in his personally signed goodwill messages, lauded the leaders for their contributions to the development of Nigeria and democracy.
Nkono, who is also the political leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, poured encomiums on President Tinubu’s leadership, saying: “Your pragmatic and people-oriented leadership, driven by the mantra of renewed hope, no doubt serves as fresh motivation and offers reassurances that nothing is impossible if we patriotically galvanise our God-given talents and acquired skills in the shared resolve to strengthen our diversities and build a stronger and better country of our collective dreams, anchored on justice, equity and fairness.”
Nkono attested that he has seen “glimpses of testimonies, thanksgiving and more celebrations under the President, adding that his resourceful leadership “offers a moment of deep positive reflection, faith in the rebuilding processes and a strong hope for a better tomorrow.”
To the Senate President, Nkono wrote that the former Akwa Ibom governor’s immense contributions to the survival of democracy and the uplift of humanity remain indelible in the annals of our history as a nation.”

He also hailed Governor Eno’s commitment to good governance, saying: “You have warmed yourself into the hearts of many with your unity, love and peaceful mien, inclusive relationships with political parties and stakeholders, as well as your commitment to good governance.
“Worthy of note are your bold efforts to upgrade the status of public schools, provide model health centres, boost agricultural endeavours, and take steps to complete the abandoned Ibom Tropicana Entertainment Centre, among others.”
