The Assistant Coach of Akwa United Football Club, Coach Abdullahi Umar has described the current challenge facing the Uyo based side as not being strange to any football team.
The Promise Keepers have played five matches straight without grabbing 3 points in any of the matches thus leaving them on 14 position on the log with 4 points.
The Assistant Coach in a post match conference noted that any team can face the challenges bedevilling them especially at the beginning of the season.
He said ” Any team can face what we are facing. Three seasons ago under Coach Maikaba, we got our three points in Week 5. During the era of Coach Everton, we started winning at week five. So, this is not strange for us”.
Coach Umar who insisted that the team has played well according to the designed tactics said the key challenge they are facing is that of converting chances.
While calling on fans to exercise patience with the team, Coach Umar said the problem does not lie with the coaching department as speculated.
He assured that the team will not let up in working towards improving stressing that it is their firm believe that they will grab their first three points in their next game in Akure.
