Bulkachuwa Commissions Court of Appeal, Asaba, Hails Gov Okowa For Initiative

The President, Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, has commissioned the Court of Appeal, Asaba Division and commended Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the initiative.

She said the establishment of the Court of Appeal is access to justice and speedy disposal of cases as well as efficient administration of justice, disclosing that the Court of Appeal, Asaba Division is the 17th Court of Appeal Division in the country.

Hon. Justice Bulkachuwa, who said that she felt so honoured to commission the Court of Appeal complex said, “We are here today to commission the Court of Appeal in Asaba and to maintain effective presence in this city. It is our hope and prayer that after this commissioning, it will be possible to continue to operate in a very peaceable and conducive atmosphere and to do our duty to all and sundry without fear or favour, affection and ill-will and in accordance with our oath of office.”

“It is my prayer that those who come to us to seek justice will leave the temple of justice fully satisfied that not only justice has been done to their cases but that it will also manifestly be seen to have been done,” she added.

In his address, the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, expressed his joy that the dream of having a Court of Appeal in Asaba has come to fruition.

“We are gathered here today to witness a milestone in the animals of Delta State with the inauguration of the Court of Appeal, Asaba Division. Today we have added a major federal institution to the public service sector landscape in the state”.

Describing the inauguration of the Court of Appeal, Asaba Division as a new page on the unfolding story of justice administration in Nigeria that will greatly advance common good and social justice, Governor Okowa commended Hon. Justice Bulkachuwa for commissioning the Appeal Court Complex and others who graced the occasion.
