DUE Hails Umo Eno’s Leadership, Pledges Sustained Support for His Administration
The Daughters of Umo Eno (DUE), a socio-political women’s group in Akwa Ibom State, has commended the administration of Governor Pastor Umo Eno for what it described as transformative leadership and people-oriented programmes across the state.
The group expressed its support for the administration on Thursday, October 29 when its State Executive paid a visit to the Political Adviser to the Governor, Prince Godwin Ntuk Udeh, PhD, in his office.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to review the administration’s programmes and projects, as well as discuss the role of women in sustaining the Governor’s development agenda and strengthening grassroots participation in governance.

Speaking during the meeting, Prince Ntuk Udeh eulogised Governor Eno’s leadership, describing the administration as transformative and focused on improving the quality of life of Akwa Ibom people.
He highlighted a range of initiatives undertaken by the administration, including women’s cooperative schemes, students’ bursary, health insurance, housing programmes such as the Luxury Estate, Vision Village and Low-Cost Housing Estate, as well as tourism infrastructure, including the 500,000-capacity conference centre.

Other interventions cited by the Political Adviser included Women in Agriculture, wardrobe and leave allowances, the Senior Citizens’ Home, payment of gratuities, Aviation Village, roads and bridges, compassionate homes, health centres and the remodelling of primary schools.

According to him, the initiatives reflect the administration’s commitment to addressing the needs of different segments of society while expanding opportunities for citizens.
Ntuk Udeh also charged members of DUE to take the message of the administration’s achievements to the grassroots and mobilise their members across the wards for greater participation in the political process.
He specifically urged the women to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno ahead of the 2027 elections, noting that the Governor was interested in a strong voter turnout across the state.
The Political Adviser commended DUE for identifying with the Governor’s leadership and for its efforts to build grassroots support around his administration.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Support Groups, Pastor Samuel Edet PhD commended the leadership of the DUE for identifying with the Governor and urged members of the group to be good ambassadors and respected children of the Governor.
Responding, the State Coordinator of DUE, Comrade Ekaette Nkanta, thanked Prince Ntuk Udeh for the warm reception accorded the delegation.
She explained that DUE was formed following a careful assessment of Governor Eno’s leadership and the performance of his administration, saying the group’s members were convinced that he had demonstrated sufficient commitment to the development and welfare of Akwa Ibom people.
Nkanta said the administration’s interventions in education, healthcare, housing, agriculture, women empowerment, infrastructure and social welfare were among the factors that influenced the group’s decision to identify with the Governor.
She said the group had adopted Governor Eno as its political father because of what she described as his commitment to improving the lives of citizens.
The DUE State Coordinator pledged that the group would continue to mobilise women across the state to support the Governor’s development agenda, while also promising massive grassroots mobilisation for his second-term bid.
She further assured that DUE would remain committed to promoting the administration’s programmes and initiatives and strengthening the bond between the Governor and women across Akwa Ibom State.
