Gov Emmanuel, TACN President To Commission, Dedicate Ultra-modern Uyo Field Secretariat
... As Uyo Field Council Names Edifice After Late Apostle Ikpe
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, is expected to commission the newly constructed ultra-modern secretariat complex of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Uyo Field, on Thursday, March 12, 2020, while the National President of the church, Apostle (Dr) Sampson Igwe, will pray and dedicate the structure for use.
Addressing a press conference, the Uyo Field Superintendent of the church, Apostle I. N. George, Ph.D, announced that the national council of the church has consented for the new secretariat complex to be commissioned by Gov Emmanuel with the national president dedicating the facility.
Apostle George also stated that it is significant for Gov. Emmanuel to commission the secretariat given his support in funding the project. He made it known that the initial fund for raising the building from foundation came from the Governor whom he described as a “friend of the church.”
On the purpose of embarking on the project, the Apostolic cleric explained that apart from the necessity of having a bigger and better secretariat complex for the church, it was a noble gesture to build in honour of the first Uyo Field Superintendent of the church, late Apostle (Dr) Amos Ikpe. George further hinted that the council of the church in Uyo Field had resolved that the building be named after the late Apostle Ikpe.
The three-storey Amos Metz Ikpe Memorial Secretariat, built and completed in four years since February 2016, houses the 200-seater field council chambers, offices of the Field Superintendent and all principal officers of the field and offices for all departments and units of the church. It also has more than 30 guest rooms (well furnished), ICT resource centre, book store, state-of-the-art library and a basement named ‘Udom Emmanuel Prayer Chambers.’

Apostle George added that the secretariat complex which he said “will be a functional secretariat and not a symbolic one”, shall provide many direct and indirect jobs for skilled and unskilled individuals.
He expressed appreciation to Gov. Emmanuel for his kind gestures towards the church and to the leadership of the church from the national president to members of the church for giving due support to the success of the project. He acknowledged that God used them to execute the building project.
