Gov Eno Gives 3-Month Ultimatum to Ewet Luxury Garden Estate Contractor.

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has directed the contractor handling the Ewet Luxury Garden Estate project in Uyo to accelerate work and complete the development within three months from Sunday.

The governor gave the directive during an unscheduled inspection of the project shortly after attending a church service at Qua Iboe Church, Ewet Offot, Uyo, on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

He expressed displeasure over the slow pace of work on the estate, which comprises 35 buildings. He directed the contractor, Western Legacy Investment Limited, to expedite construction and ensure timely completion and handover of the project.

Pastor Eno also ordered the termination of the construction of porch roofs on the buildings and directed the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Emem Bob, to ensure that 12 buildings are completed and handed over to the government every month, beginning in September.

He warned that failure to meet the completion targets as directed would attract termination of the contract.

“I am not pleased at the state of this project. This project is well overdue for handover to those who have bought these houses.

“I have just given a directive to the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Emem Bob, that by the end of the month, there are 35 buildings here, and I want the contractor to finish 12 buildings every month, starting this September. Whichever one is not ready, I will terminate the contract,” he said.

He said the directive was in line with his administration’s commitment to ensuring the prompt completion and delivery of government projects so that residents could derive the intended benefits.

The governor charged contractors handling projects across the state to improve their pace of work and adhere strictly to agreed delivery timelines.

The state governor was accompanied during the inspection by his deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; Executive Assistant/Chief Delivery Advisor, Mr. Aniefiok Johnson; members of the State Executive Council; and other government officials.
