Governor Emmanuel Lauds Ibom Patriots’ Commitment to State Development

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel has lauded the zeal, quest and commitment of Ibom Patriots toward the socio-economic development and political wellbeing of the State.

The socio-political forum received the commendation on Friday during its Annual General Meeting and Get-together held at Eseme Essien Event Centre, Osongama Estate, Uyo, the state capital.

Governor Emanuel who was represented by the Secretary to State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem applauded Ibom Patriots for their intellectual creativity, sacrifices and love for the citizens of the state, noting that this unalloyed attribute is one the reasons he holds the union in high esteem.

According to Dr Ekuwem, “The state government appreciates your commitment, sacrifices and your immense contribution toward sustaining the peace in the state, this kind disposition is one of the reasons Governor Udom Emmanuel holds the Union in high esteem,” he lauded.

Ekuwem reiterated the Governor’s commitment in meeting the yearnings of Akwa Ibom indigenes through the Completion Agenda initiative.

He said the Governor is a visionary leader, who thinks about the next generation. According to him, Mr Udom Emmanuel has been working day and night in ensuring that the state experience desirable greatness, harmony and tranquillity.

Regarding community participation with respect to state development, Ekuwem urged the citizens of Akwa Ibom State to rise above primordial sentiments, stressing that no matter where one comes from we should all see ourselves as one people so to enhance the economic growth of the state.

Earlier, the Chancellor of Ibom Patriots, Obong Bassey Inuaeyen appreciated the members for their steadfastness of sacrifice towards the progress of the forum and the State despite the setbacks caused by the advent of COVID-19 pandemic.

Inuaeyen also applauded the efforts of the state governor with regards to achieving the objectives of the Completion Agenda as well as his Dakadda philosophy that is impacting on the lives of Akwa Ibomites.

The chancellor pledged the forum’s commitments in keeping the flag flying and their continuous effort in supporting Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration.

Featuring on a discourse with the theme: “Politics, Governance & The Sustainable Development of Akwa Ibom State: Mainstreaming The Completion Agenda,” Dr. Aniekan Brown who was the Guest Speaker noted that politics and governance can aid facilitate the process of state development if the citizens are raised generally to accept elements that will amalgamate into Akwa Ibom dream.

Dr Brown, a lecturer in the University of Uyo added, “If we share our strength and weaknesses, ups and downs, and also grow to a point where anybody’s success becomes a collective success, this is when we can be proud of sustainable development in the context of politics and governance and left bearing into the Completion Agenda.”

The socio-political group also received goodwill messages for their philanthropic gestures toward humanity from personalities who attended the event from all walks of life.

Dignitaries that graced the event included the Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General, Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr) Solomon Daniel Etuk, who was represented by the Paramount Ruler of ONNA Local Government Area, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Raymond Timothy Inyang; the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof Nyaudoh Ndaeyo also led other academic scholars to event.

Others include former National Assembly members, State Executive Council Members, Captain of industries, businessmen, royal fathers, local government chairmen and members of the association.
