Ibesikpo Asutan Council Boss Swears-in Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers
The Executive Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Hon.(Mrs) Akon Michael Asuquo has sworn in the newly appointed Supervisors and Special Advisers into the Executive Council of the Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event, the council boss, charged the appointees to bring in their best in ensuring that the task of local government administration is superbly complimented.
Hon. Michael, who spoke on the necessity of their offices as Supervisors and Special Advisers, reasoned that if the newly sworn in members of the executive council neglects their responsibilities, then the appointment was an exercise in futility.
She called on them to reciprocate the gesture of the government by ensuring they execute their assigned duties diligently with panache and candour.

“Today’s appointment is beyond vain rhetoric and political display. It is rather a call to service; service to Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, service to Akwa Ibom State and service to Nigeria.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. So much more is expected from all of you as you kick-start your new engagement today”, she said.
Hon. (Mrs) Michael however, admonished the newly sworn in members of the Executive Council to subjugate their personal interests at all times but to exhibit the collective interests of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
She reiterated the need for them to exhibit excellence in their duties and prioritize the completion agenda of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, by impacting positively on those at the grassroots.

In her goodwill message, Hon. (Lady) Emem Ottensek, State Woman Leader People’s Democratic Party 2 (PDP), prayed God to grant the new appointees wisdom to carry on their responsibilities without distractions and commended the council boss for her achievements so far in office.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Donald Inyang, who described the executive chairman, Hon.(Mrs) Akon Michael, as a prime mover of Ibesikpo Asutan, thanked her for their appointment and promised that they will live up to the expectations of their respective offices.
A breakdown of portfolios assigned to the Supervisors and Special Advisers are Works and Transportation – Aniedi Edet Okon; Education ,Youth and Sport -Uboh Uboh; Agriculture and Natural Resources- Idongesit William; Health and Environmental Matters – Emem Eyo and Chieftaincy and Boundary Matters – Hon. Itoro Nkanta.
Others are Women Affairs – Mrs Mandu Anietie Okon; Religious Affairs – Mary Etim Dan (SA); Political and Government Matters – Donald Inyang and Lands and Housing – Samuel Etuk (SA).
