The emergence of Crystal Express, a print news medium in Akwa Ibom is indeed a welcome development and a pride to the State. The first day i saw the newspaper at the newsstand at Ibom plaza, and other strategic locations within Uyo capital city, i thought it was a national news medium that just came to town.
Amazingly, the beautiful newspaper with colourful graphic design, clean colour separation and print effect, is published in Akwa Ibom State. The standard raised by Cystal Express in Newspapering business, in my opinion is a complete departure from the bandwagon approach adopted by most newspapers published in the state today.
It was a delight to know that such a newspaper with a rich content, good enough to compete favourably with some reputable national dailies, could come from this part of Nigeria.
However, my fear is how this noble venture would be sustained. I pray it would the test of time.
