Outright Neglect Of Calabar-Itu Highway

I recall that the Buhari-led administration had in May 2017, announced the approval of a whooping N54 billion for the reconstruction of the major artery road which starts from Ikot Ekpene, passes through Itu all in Akwa Ibom State to Odukpani in Cross River State.
One would have thought that reconstruction work on the Calabar-Itu highway must have gone far by now and the road in good condition.
But unfortunately the road is worsening. In spite of the maintenance work carried out by Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), the road is still in a bad shape.
The Federal Government should please take full responsibility of the road.
The road has become so bad that the plight of its users is now unbearably grievous.

The Police-Motorcyclists Brawl In Uyo
The recent clash between the Nigeria Police and motorcyclists at Aka Etinan Road, Uyo would have been less messy if tackled rightly.
What ought to have been a peaceful arrest turned into a crisis all because diplomacy was ignored.
I am not against motorcyclists keeping to laws as it’s expected of them. But the truth remains that defaulters of such laws could be punished without causing mayhem to fruit vendors, shop owners, passers-by and residents of that vicinity.
I understand that the law is to help curb crimes, but on the other hand we should consider what will become of the after effects if not tactfully applied.

Thanks For Peaceful Akwa Ibom
I can vividly recall those days of torments when insecurity rose to the zenith in Akwa Ibom, particularly in Uyo, the State capital.
At that time robbery and kidnapping (some politically motivated), became the order of the day.
But those vices came to an end when Mr. Udom Emmanuel emerged governor of our state.
A song of relative peace has now filled our state because a man who prioritizes his people became the leader.
For helping to usher in peace to Akwa Ibom, Governor Emmanuel deserves our support.
Citizens of the state and all residents should join hands with government and the security agencies in maintaining the new peace in Akwa Ibom State.
