Nsit Ubium Dignitaries Bid Super Dragon Farewell

The funeral service of Late Chief Ubong Hanson, popularly known as Super Dragon, was graced with dignitaries from Nsit Ubium Community and beyond as they converged on Saturday to pay their last respect to superman who died at the age of 80.

The service which was conducted by the Christian Prayer Author Church was held at Government Primary School, Ikot Eyo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

In their various condolence messages, the Nsit Ubium dignitaries applauded the late legend’s act of bravery, hard work, Christian virtues and sterling leadership qualities, noting that these attributes enabled him to contribute immensely in his community and the state.

While sympathizing with the deceased family, they asserted that his global exploits have fetched him a worthwhile legacy that will serve as a blue print to younger generation of Nsit Ubium indigenes.

The dignitaries however prayed for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

In her response, Evangelist Imaobong Hanson, the wife of the deceased appreciated the government officials and members of Ikot Eyo community for coming out en masse to bid farewell to her late husband. She prayed for God to bless them in all their endeavours.

Reflecting on the personality of the late Chief, one of his sons, Mr Universé Hanson said his father was humble, calm and had a generous lifestyle that was worth emulating, he noted that irrespective of his powerful nature, he was a loving husband and father.

Until his death, Super Dragon was recognized globally for his stunts in weight lifting. His extraordinary performances fetched him remarkable names like “The World’s Sampson,” the “Greatest Man in Africa” and “Most Powerful Man in Nigeria”.

He was also a community leader, a sport coach and a devoted Christian whose legendary strides brought development to his community, the state and nation at large.

Dignitaries that graced the event include Senator Effiong Bob, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke (member representing Etinan Federal Constituency), Barr. Otobong Bob (member representing Nsit Ubium State Constituency),

Otuekong Emmanuel Ibiok – Commissioner II, Local Government Service Commission; Mrs Ofonime Ntiense – Vice Chairman, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area; Hon. Ibanga Brownson – PDP Vice Chairman II; Hon. Ibanga Brownson and a great number of people from Ikot Eyo community.
