Oku Ibom Ibibio Dedicates CFR Award To God, Akwa Ibomites

...Seeks Peace, Unity Of Purpose Among Akwa Ibomites, Political Class

Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk has dedicated the award of the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) to the Almighty God and the good people of Akwa Ibom State.

The premier royal father, speaking shortly after he arrived at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo from Abuja, expressed appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR for deeming him fit for the national honours award.

The Oku Ibom Ibibio, who is also the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium LGA and Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), extended his appreciation to Governor Udom Emmanuel for his love and cooperation in nominating him for the prestigious national honours award.

“I can say right away that I dedicate this national honours award to the Almighty God and Akwa Ibomites in general. No man can be anything without the Almighty God, who is the creator and giver of life. He has placed me on the throne to serve the people and the state.

“I also dedicate the award to the good people of Akwa Ibom State and the traditional institution. I greatly cherish the goodwill messages I have been receiving from the people, institutions and bodies, since my nomination and eventful conferment of CFR by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR in Abuja on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

“The goodwill messages have further rekindled my passion and commitment to continue giving my very best as the Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council,” he stated.

He called on Akwa Ibomites to unite and try as much as possible to cooperate towards the prevalence of sustainable peace and development in the State.

Ntenyin Etuk commended Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for his relentless efforts in the development of the state, and in ensuring peace, unity and tranquillity.

He added, “We cannot fail to acknowledge the spate of development by the administration of Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel of which some are completed and others ongoing in various parts of the state.

“The recent 10-lane road network named after Dr Clement Isong and Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga within the capital city is one of the major projects worth commending. The beauty of it also is that the road construction was done by an indigenous contractor, Hensek Integrated Services Limited.

The premier royal father urged politicians to always place the interest of the State above personal considerations and to avoid any unlawful act likely to create disharmony or disrupt the prevailing peace.

“I want to emphasize that my children should play politics without bitterness or rancour. They should undertake their campaigns peacefully in the spirit of sportsmanship,” he added.
