Oku Ibom Lauds Gov Emmanuel On New Council Of Chiefs Complex
…Hails Akwa Ibom People On 33rd Anniversary
The Oku Ibom Ibibio and chairman, Akwa Ibom State Council of Chiefs, His Eminence (Dr) Nteyin Solomon D. Etuk, has lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for building an ultramodern complex for traditional rulers in the state.
The premier royal father in Akwa Ibom State, speaking in an exclusive interview with Crystal Express at his palace in Ikot Ukobo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, expressed deep appreciation to Governor Emmanuel for rising to the occasion to offer them a befitting council chamber for their meetings and a residency for the chairman, State Council of Chiefs.
He maintained that the governor has reposed the confidence reposed on him by the traditional institution and Akwa Ibom people.

Ntenyin Etuk, who is also the president-general of Ifim Ibom Ibibio (Supreme Council of Ibibio Traditional Rulers) and paramount ruler of Nsit Ubium LGA, noted that his colleagues in the traditional institution were deeply appreciative of the achievements recorded by the governor in his administration, adding that “the industrial revolution witnessed in the state gives hope of a brighter tomorrow for our teeming youths and even generations unborn.”
He disclosed that traditional rulers received with thanks the ultramodern council of chiefs chambers built and handed over to them by the governor.
He, on behalf of his colleagues, also thanked the governor for prompt payment of their allowances and announced the donation of 50,000 facemasks for distribution to school children in support of government’s planned reopening of schools as a contribution to the state government’s fight against Covid-19.
“I want to once again appreciate His Excellency for all he has done so far in terms of developmental programmes and that which he still intends to do for the institution vis-à-vis the state in the remaining period of his completion agenda,” he asserted.

Acknowledging the contributions of past leaders of the state, the monarch stressed that courtesy of landmark achievements recorded, peaceful coexistence and future prospects, Akwa Ibom people “have every reason to celebrate and offer appreciation to the Almighty God for the fruitful journey as a state since its historic creation on September 23, 1987 by the administration of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCFR.”
He added, “Akwa Ibom people stand tall not only with our political status as a state but the significant human capacity development and infrastructural renaissance attained within the past 33 years.”
The Oku Ibom Ibibio urged Akwa Ibom people to embrace unity and eschew negative tendencies capable of stalling progress or setting the state on a retrogressive path.
