A high-level roundtable meeting of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council was held at Galaxy La Palm Royal Resort, Abacha Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
The meeting was declared open by the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and chaired by His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, CFR, Ooni of Ife, with HRM Eze (Barr) Onyekachi Amaonwu serving as co-chairman.
His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr) Solomon Daniel Etuk, CFR, Oku Ibom Ibibio and President-General of the Akwa Ibom State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, joined other revered monarchs, including HRM Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, Obi of Obinugwu; Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Olubadan of Ibadanland; and HRM Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, Eze Oha Apara IV, for the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council meeting.
They deliberated on the unity, peace and sustainable development across Southern Nigeria and the nation at large.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Oku Ibom Ibibio urged Akwa Ibomites and Nigerians in general to embrace genuine love, unity and peaceful coexistence, noting that progress thrives on harmony. He also advocated a “live and let’s live” spirit rooted in tolerance, mutual respect and compassion.
