The Wife of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for the 2023 Governorship election in Akwa Ibom State, Pastor (Mrs.) Imaobong Nkeiru Bassey Albert has assured women of the State of overwhelming victory at the polls.
Mrs Albert said this at a joint meeting of YPP Chapter Women Leaders, wives of the Party’s candidates across the board and her latest socio-political group, ‘Ibaan Imaobong’ on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
At the event which was held at the Senator OBA’s Liaison Office, Ewet Housing Estate in Uyo, Pastor Imaobong Albert commended the women for being sincere and resolute to the cause of her bringing about people’s centred administration through the husband, Senator Bassey Albert.
Particularly, she applauded the party women leaders for giving them the platform for which the candidates have come to find solace and pursue their divine destinations and appreciated their efforts in sustaining the party’s ideology at the grassroots.
Responding to deliberations from the women, she urged them to remain undaunted despite challenges encountered, noting that the harvest time will come after the seeding time.

“I acknowledge your sacrifices and labour of love. And I don’t want you to relent in your efforts. Our gaze remains focussed on the goal, which is the swearing-in of my husband, Sen. Bassey Albert as Governor of Akwa Ibom State come May 29, 2023, “she stated.
Harping on the need for more work at the grassroots, Mrs Albert stressed the imperatives of a harmonious relationship with women in the hinterlands, stressing the power of persuasive appeals.
She also appealed to wives of candidates to identify and liaise regularly with the Party Women Leaders to enable a smooth relationship that will engender mutual synergy and success of the party and candidates.
Earlier, the Wife of the Deputy Governorship candidate of the YPP, Chief (Mrs.) Janet Amba informed that the meeting was premised on the need for Party Women Leaders across chapters to meet with prospective candidates’ wives for strategic planning towards the forthcoming elections in the State.
She assured the women that they were on the right course, and would be handsomely rewarded in no time.
Others, who also spoke were Mrs Ephraim Inyang-eyen, Mrs Nana Asuquo and Mrs Eno Ekpenyong Ekpo.
The high point of the event was the inauguration of ‘Ibaan Imaobong’ by Mrs Imaobong Nkeiru Bassey Albert followed by an interactive session with the various Women Leaders.
At the meeting were the State Party Women Leader, Obongawan Essien and her Deputy, Deaconess Affiong; Wife of the Director General, Akwa Ubokabasi Campaign Organization, Mrs Sunny Ibuot; YPP Chapter Women Leaders and ‘Ibaan Imaobong’ Chapter Coordinators across the 31 Local Government Area; LEWA hopefuls and wives of candidates of the YPP, including Mrs Ime Ehpraim Inyang-eyen, Mrs Usenobong Akpabio, Barr. (Mrs.) Nana Asuquo, Mrs. Mary Mfonobong Edet, Mrs. Eno Ekpenyong Ekpo, among others.
