Petrochemical/Fertilizer Industry: Eastern Obolo Chairman, People Commend Gov Emmanuel

The Executive Chairman of Eastern Obolo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. Abraham Odion, has lauded Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for his giant strides recorded in the six years of his administration.

Hon. Abraham Odion, in a goodwill message to Governor Udom Emmanuel on the occasion of his 6th year anniversary in office, said the people of Eastern Obolo were very pleased with the governor for also experiencing the impact of his administration.

According to the chairman, the siting of Sterling Petrochemical and Fertilizer Limited in Eastern Obolo by Gov Emmanuel’s administration has changed the status of Eastern Obolo from a passive community to one with vested government interest.

The message read, “On behalf of the good people of Eastern Obolo Local Government Area, I write to congratulate our dear Governor, His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel on his 6th year in office as Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

“Under the Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration Akwa Ibom State has witnessed an unprecedented development as brought about by His Excellency’s industrialization drive geared towards the economic sustenance of our people.

“The people of Eastern Obolo are excited that they are not left out. Today I make bold to say that it took His Excellency’s coming to power for Eastern Obolo to assume her deserved position in the league of core oil producing and bearing communities. This is a feat which our people will not forget and future generations will come to reckon with.

“The siting of Sterling Petrochemical and Fertilizer Limited in Eastern Obolo has changed our status from a passive community to one with vested government interest.”

Hon. Odion pointed out that the council and the entire people of the area were also grateful for other projects of the state government in Eastern Obolo such as the reconstruction of classroom blocks in Government Primary Schools in Iko Town, Okorombokho, Atabrikang, Okoroette, Ikoroinyong, Emeroke, and others.

He added, “In six years you have done these for us.  We have absolutely no doubt that the remaining two years will yield better dividends of democracy for us and the state at large.”

The chairman listed projects so far completed by the Governor Emmanuel’s administration in Eastern Obolo to include: Reconstruction of 4 No. classroom block at Government Primary School Iko Town (IMDLCC); Reconstruction of 4 classroom block at Government Primary School, Okorombokho (IMDLCC); Renovation Of 3 classroom block/office at Primary School Atabrikang; Renovation of classroom/hall at St Silas Anglican, Okoroette and Construction of classroom/office at St Silas Anglican, Okoroette.

Odion further listed the governor’s on-going projects in Eastern Obolo to include:  Construction of assembly hall at Primary School, Ikoroinyong; Renovation of 3 classroom block at Primary School, Emeroke; Construction of 3 Classroom at Government Primary School, Atabrikang; Reconstruction of 4 classroom block at Primary School Atabrikang, Eastern Obolo and Reconstruction of 4 classroom block at Primary School, Okorote, Eastern Obolo.
