
Police detectives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have recovered suspected stolen items in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, the state capital.
DSP Timfon John, the Police Public Relations Officer of Akwa Ibom State Command, in a Press release issued on Sunday, August 10, 2025, said that during the swift operation, there was no arrest of suspects.
According to her, operatives of the State Command conducted a raid on an uncompleted building located along Plot 70, Unit ‘A’, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, on August 7, 2025, at approximately 5:30 AM.
The PPRO narrated that upon the arrival of operatives with police vehicles, the suspects fled the scene through the back door, abandoning a significant amount of suspected stolen property, with no arrests being made at the time.
The press release read, “On August 7, 2025, at approximately 5:30 AM, operatives of the command conducted a raid on an uncompleted building located along Plot 70, Unit ‘A’, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.

Upon the arrival of police vehicles, the suspects fled the scene through the back door, abandoning a significant amount of suspected stolen property. No arrests were made at the time.
The recovered items include:
* Three split-unit air conditioners
* One Butterfly sewing machine
* Four and a half fathoms of wax materials
* Three-door curtains
* Two Polo t-shirts
* One school bag
* Four new pairs of men’s native attire (up and down) and a pair of trousers
* One new black female gown
* Two white and orange jerseys
* One teddy bear
* Half a yard of plain material *
DSP Timfon John assured that “the Police are actively working to identify and trace the owners of the recovered items.
The PPRO urged members of the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
