No fewer than 1,133 beneficiaries in Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have received a total of ₦84,975,000 under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme.
The disbursement took place at the Nsit Atai Local Government Secretariat, Odot, as part of the ongoing rollout of the programme across Akwa Ibom State on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno for extending the intervention to vulnerable residents of the area.
Prince Nyong expressed appreciation to the Federal and State Governments for the initiative, noting that the cash transfer would provide immediate support to beneficiaries and help ease the financial burden on their households.
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds, stressing that the intervention should be utilized to support their families and improve their livelihoods.

The Chairman also encouraged residents to ensure that their names are captured in the National Identity Register, National Social Register and Voter Register, noting that proper registration would provide credible identification, improve access to government interventions and encourage active participation in civic responsibilities.
Prince Nyong assured residents that more dividends of good governance would continue to reach vulnerable households through the complementary efforts of the Federal and State Governments, while urging them to remain supportive of the administrations.
Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Emem Ibanga, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians through various social investment programmes.
She also lauded Governor Umo Eno for his continued support towards the successful implementation of the programme in Akwa Ibom State, describing the Governor’s complementary efforts as a demonstration of his commitment to improving the lives of the people.
She explained that beneficiaries of the CCT programme were selected based on their inclusion in the State Social Register, stressing that the process was designed to ensure that assistance reached households identified as vulnerable.
The Commissioner disclosed that each beneficiary received a card preloaded with ₦75,000, stressing that the cards were issued free of charge and beneficiaries were not required to pay for the disbursement. She therefore cautioned Point-of-Sale (POS) operators against exploiting beneficiaries by imposing excessive withdrawal charges.
Some beneficiaries described the cash transfer as a timely intervention that would ease the financial burden on their households, expressing appreciation to the Federal and State Governments for the support.
They also pledged their continued support for the administrations of President Tinubu and Governor Eno and prayed for the success of their respective administrations
