RC USA: Accolades, Encomiums Trail Rotarian Chibuzo Iroadu’s Stewardship as New President Takes Over

Nigerians from all walks of life, including colleagues, friends and well-wishers have celebrated Rotarian Chibuzo Iroadu, PHF+ the immediate past President, of the Rotary Club of Uyo Shelter Afrique and Best President, District 9142 for her result-oriented leadership.

The award-winning President, whose tenure ended recently, in a seamless transition, handed over the reins of leadership to a new President, Rotarian Aniefiok Udonte after a fulfilled era of impactful services.

The carnival-like event provided Rotarians with the opportunity to reflect on the gains of service during the Imagine Rotary Year under the leadership of Rotn. Iroadu, who won the Best President, District 9142.

At the handover ceremony, penultimate Monday, Rotarian Chibuzo Iraodu stated that she assumed the position of the President of the Club with determination to serve humanity, grow the Club and foster friendship while building on the already established legacies of the Club and her predecessors.

According to her, “This is a commitment I have lived up to till this day of my handover fellowship. I congratulate the new President, Rotn. Aniefiok Udonte and charge him to use all his talents and virtues to maintain unity in the Club while creating hope for humanity.”

Rotn. Chibuzo Iroadu also expressed deep-seated gratitude to her beloved husband Mr Uche Felix Iroadu for his love, understanding and unparalleled support to her while serving the Club as President of the Rotary Club of Uyo Shelter Afrique.

In the same vein, Iroadu appreciated the District Governor, Rotn. Grace Okaro for her leadership and guidance which helped her serve better in the District.
Rotn. Chibuzo specially thanked AG Idongesit Domingo Inyang, the supervising Assistant Governor for her availability, positive contributions and advice to the Club.

She also expressed her thanks to all Rotarians in the State who make out time to share fellowship with her Club.

In a special appreciation, she commended the Board of Directors and Club members of the Rotary Club of Uyo Shelter Afrique for their dedication, steadfastness and commitment to service which helped the Club serve humanity better and led to its emergence as the Best Club in District 9142.

She called for maximum cooperation with the new President as he leads the Club in his service year.
Speaking with newsmen, the Club members described Rotn. Chibuzo’s tenure as another significant milestone in the history of the Club as evident in the execution of projects, district awards, recognitions and membership growth.

Rotarians noted that it gladdens their hearts to look back with the assurance that President Chibuzo lived up to her commitment to service and wished her the very best in her future endeavours.

A highlight of the handover fellowship was the induction of two new members, Rotn. Imaobong Andrew-Essien and Rotn. Solarin Michael; presentation of certificates of appreciation to Rotn. Ememabasi Bassey, Rotn. Mercy Edet, Rotn. Kate Akpabio and Rotn. Godwin Ekpenyong for their meritorious services to the Club. It also featured the presentation of customized souvenirs to Club members and visiting Rotarians, and the formal handing over of medical equipment by Rotn. Chibuzo Iroadu to the Club – the equipment which was donated by the Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing Inc ( the Club’s International partner) in Melbourne, Australia in fulfilment of the international partnership for Disease Prevention and Treatment project.

The special banquet was laced and spiced with music and had in attendance the President’s spouse, Assistant Governors, Assistant Governors Designates, Past Assistant Governors, Past Presidents, Presidents, President Nominees, Rotarians, Rotaractors, guests and friends
