Senator Albert Joins in Special Interdenominational New Year/Rededication Service
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) and Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Bassey Albert Akpan attended a Special Interdenominational Solemn Assembly to usher in the year 2022 and to rededicate Akwa Ibom State to God.
Senator Albert, who is the Leader of the Akwa Ibom State Caucus in the National Assembly attended the Church Service with the theme “There Shall Be A Performance” at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aka, Aka Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Sunday, January 02, 2022.
The two-term senator joined the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Martha Udom Emmanuel; the Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo, MFR; members of the State Executive Council; Members of the 7th Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey; members of State Traditional Rulers Council; Clergymen; members of the State; Local Government and Ward Executives of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and party faithfuls; business moguls, politicians and other government functionaries to the special interdenominational solemn assembly.
The first bible reading at the service, drawn from Isaiah 60:1-6 was taken by Governor Udom Emmanuel while the ‘Word of Welcome’ was delivered by the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Donatus Udoette and the Scriptural text/Homily was administered by Very Rev. Fr. Justice Udomah.
