Senator Albert Preaches Love, Peace At Christmas
...Urges Faithful To Be Vessels For A Better Society
As Christendom and the world at large celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ, the senator representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA) has called for brotherly love among faithful and citizens-alike, towards building a peaceful and healthier society.
In a Christmas message entitled, “Let True Love Reign”, Senator Albert, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources Upstream, noted that the coming of Jesus Christ heralded peace as well as redemption and blessings for mankind.
“The celebration of Christmas – the birth of Jesus Christ, is indeed a solemn season.
“As God’s precious gift to the world, his birth reminds us of the threshold of our redemption and blessings (John 3:16).
“As we therefore celebrate the birthday of our Lord and Saviour, it behoves on us to imbibe the very essence of his mission – spanning love, spiritual regeneration, moral rectitude and the spirit of communality,” he stated.

Senator Albert, who is the Leader of Akwa Ibom State Caucus in the National Assembly, Abuja, noted that Jesus Christ exemplified true love for mankind and sacrificed his life for our salvation, encouraging us therefore to also be vessels of honour for a better society.
“Evidently, our Lord exemplified true love for mankind and sacrificed his life for our salvation. His life therefore encourages us to also be vessels of honour for a better society. When true love reigns as exhibited by Jesus Christ throughout his mission on earth, the society grows healthier in all facets,” he added.
While encouraging faithful to exude brotherly love and to live as patriotic citizens, he emphasized that the “world can be more bonded when there is mutual love, peace, tolerance and respect for one another.”
He therefore urged faithful to jettison hypocrisy and hatred against one another in our daily lives.
Senator Albert, on behalf of his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Imaobong Nkeiru Albert and Family, wished the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel and the Constituents of Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, nay friends across Akwa Ibom and beyond, Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
He remarked that as part of the celebration of the yuletide, he was reaching out to families across Akwa Ibom State and beyond with modest gifts and prayed for a peaceful celebration of Christmas and New Year.
