Sterling Performance: A’Ibom Assembly Passes Vote Of Confidence On Gov Emmanuel
The fifth anniversary of Governor Udom Emmanuel on Friday, May 29, 2020 did not go unnoticed by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
At its plenary on Friday, the Assembly passed a vote of confidence on Governor Emmanuel for his five years of superior performance.
The lawmakers, in a goodwill message read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, commended Gov Emmanuel on the way he has been running the affairs of the State irrespective of the global economic threat posed by COVID-19 pandemic.

They also congratulated Gov Emmanuel on his exemplary leadership strides since inception of office in the last five years, saying, “We commend the Governor for staying focused on his industrialization policy right from the first tenure and running with the Completion Agenda into the first year in his second term.”
“With 16 industries in five years, incorporation of the Ibom Airline, the newest and freshest airline in Nigeria, refurbishing of our schools and secondary health care facilities and fitting them with the newest medical equipment as well as the building of a world-class 300-bed space epidemiological isolation centre complete with a PCR laboratory where critical tests including Covid -19 and other infectious diseases will be carried out in Ituk Mbang in Uruan LGA, the Governor has left nobody in doubt that he is a leader Akwa Ibom people needed at this time of global economic challenges.”
The 7th Assembly appreciated the Governor for the zeal in ensuring that Ibom Deep Seaport becomes a reality despite several hurdles which the state has to surmount and hoping for the Federal Government to do its bid to facilitate the realization of the project.
The House promised to ensure a smooth relationship with the other arms of government and remain resolute on its mission as a People’s Assembly so governance can wear a human face.
