Urue Offong/Oruko Councillors Pass Vote Of Confidence On Hon. Efombruh

Members of Urue Offong/Oruko Legislative Council have described as spurious and malicious a publication contained in a local tabloid, The Bomb Newspaper of June 8, 2020.

Reacting to the publication, 10 councillors representing various wards in the area have maintained that the local government under the leadership of Hon. (Chief) Umana Efombruh has since inception remained peaceful, with the legislative and executive arms closing ranks for quality administration.

Ruling on a motion brought before the House on Tuesday concerning the said publication, leader of the legislature, Hon. Edet Okon John, frowned at the attitude of certain politicians for “attempting to score cheap political goals by inciting rancour within the local government.”

Through a resolution issued and signed by the 10 lawmakers, they unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the council helmsman, Chief  Efombruh, affirming their unwavering support to his executive council.

They urged members of the public to disregard any information which suggest animosity between the legislature and the executive council of Urue Offong/Oruko. Accordingly, the councillors in the resolution disassociated themselves from rumours of being at loggerheads with the council boss, describing such claim as “bizarre, misleading and inadmissible creation of wrong impression.”

The lawmakers also appreciated Governor Udom Emmanuel as well as the “good people of Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government for creating a peaceful environment” for the council to operate.

Meanwhile, the council chairman has in a letter to the legislative council, acknowledged the vote of confidence passed on him and all supervisors under his watch, pledging to remain steadfast in the pursuit of development and progress in the best interest of the populace.
