The Paramount Ruler of Uyo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, HRM Edidem Sylvanus Effiong Okon, JP, has extolled Eteidung Emem Denis Asikpo for his leadership strides since ascending the village headship of Ekpri Nsukara Offot in 2023.
The paramount ruler stated that he has followed up on the activities of Eteidung Asikpo and is very proud of his committed efforts to unite the community by instilling love, peace, and togetherness among the villagers, residents, and others in the neighbourhood.
Edidem Okon, who was speaking as a special guest of honour on the occasion of a Solemn Assembly organised by Eteidung Asikpo for Ekpri Nsukara Offot community on Saturday, December 6, 2025, stated that by dedicating and handing over the village to God, the community will surely witness unlimited blessings and progress.

The paramount ruler urged Eteidung Asikpo to remain courageous and continue his good works of attracting development to his people and the community, without being distracted by the negative activities of some adversaries, which he said are common occurrences.
In his speech, Eteidung Emem Denis Asikpo said that he and the village council decided to convene the solemn assembly as a divine platform to offer supplication, praise, and worship to God for healing their land, blessing the people, and guiding them into a new dawn.

“As a firm believer in God and having experienced a divine encounter and transformation, I have to lead my people alright, take them to God to attract manifold blessings and protection to my people,” he added.

Eteidung Asikpo expressed appreciation to the Paramount ruler of Uyo, HRM Edidem Sylvanus Effiong Okon, JP; the Village Head of Ikot Ntuen Offot, Uyo, Eteidung Nsikak Ime Essang; the Village Head of Ibiaku, Uyo, Eteidung Gabriel Mbeke and other royal fathers; the clerics; villagers; residents; and other guests who participated in the solemn assembly, the second since he became the village head.
The guest preacher, Pastor Nsima Eyo Okon, who spoke on the theme “Behold I Will Do a New Thing”, drawn from Isaiah 43:19, was emphatic that the convocation of a solemn assembly will surely herald a new dawn for Ekpri Nsukara Offot Village.
Pastor Okon, of the Elshadai Kingdom Ministry, assured the congregants that God is always at work, reshaping the ordinary into the extraordinary and making pathways where there were none.

The Chairman of the Village Council, Comrade Morris Silas Bassey; Vice Chairman, Village Council, Obong Edem Mark; Secretary of the Village Council, Elder Domingo Bassey Etim; who was the chairman of the Planning Committee; the secretary of the Planning Committee, Mr Emmanuel Ikpe; and the youth president, Mr Emmanuel Pius Okon, all spoke glowingly about the leadership of Eteidung Asikpo.
Comrade Morris Silas Bassey described Eteidung Asikpo’s reign as peaceful, noting that he is working assiduously with security agencies and the community leadership to instil discipline, law and order in the community.
Elder Domingo Bassey Etim, who is also the Principal of Ekpri Nsukara Offot International Schools (ENISCO), disclosed that Eteidung Asikpo has awarded scholarships to the tune of about N500,000 to 21 students from the community’s school who participated in a recent cultural performance.

The solemn assembly, which witnessed an ecstatic atmosphere with supplication, praise, worship and inspiring exhortation and goodwill messages, was held at the Council Hall, 41 Mission Road, Ekpri Nsukara Offot on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
Other dignitaries at the event were the councillor representing Uyo Ward 7, Hon. Francis Silas, a renowned legal practitioner, Barr. Samuel Ikpo, a media consultant; and Elder Patrick Albert.
Heads and representatives of the five families of Ekpri Nsukara Offot attended the service, namely: Obong Enefiok P. Edem – Nung Udo Akpan; Obong Effiong Henry Obong – Nung Abasi-Imo; Obong Francis Nyong – Nung Essang; Obong Francis Effiong Essang – Nung Okpo and Obong Michael Jerome Udofia – Nung Ukpong.
