2022 Carnival: Offot Ukwa Clan Convokes Stakeholders Meeting, Wednesday
The Clan head of Offot Ukwa and Paramount Ruler of Uyo Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Sylvanus Effiong Okon has scheduled a meeting of stakeholders of the clan on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
The stakeholders’ meeting involves all the 22 village heads and prominent sons and daughters of Offot Ukwa Clan working in public and private sectors, academic and ecclesiastical institutions, within and outside the state.
Top on the agenda of the meeting, which will take place at the palace of the clan head and paramount ruler of Uyo at No. 40, Udo Ekpo Mkpo Street, Eniong Offot, Uyo, is the Offot Ukwa Festival of Arts and Culture 2022.
Already, the Offot Ukwa Clan Council of Chiefs has put a Central Planning Committee (CPC) for the upcoming carnival headed by a seasoned journalist and immediate past chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Elder Patrick Albert as chairman.
The CPC has Mrs Nkereuwem Bassey, an Akwa Ibom State Council for Arts and Culture senior staff as secretary.
The forthcoming Offot Ukwa Festival of Arts and Culture, which is the third in the series, has the motto: Celebrating Unity & Cultural Legacy.

Meanwhile, the Central Planning Committee (CPC) has so far inaugurated subcommittees in 20 out of the 22 villages in Offot Ukwa Clan.
Villages so far covered are Nsukara Offot, Use Offot, Use Atai Offot, Ikot Ikot Ntuen Offot, Ikot Oku Idio Offot, Ekpri Nsukara Offot and Ibiaku Offot.
Others are Anua Offot, Eniong Offot, Ewet Offot, Uyo Offot, Aka Offot, Iboko Offot, Efiat Offot, Atan Offot, Afaha Offot, Ikot Okubo Offot, Anua Obio Offot, Ikot Ekpe Offot, Obio Offot and Use Ikot Ebio Offot. The two remaining villages – Ekpri Nsukara and Ikot Anyang, will soon be inaugurated.
On behalf of the Offot Ukwa Clan Council of Chiefs, a press release issued by the CPC called on all Offot Ukwa sons and daughters to attend the stakeholders’ meeting unfailingly.
The press release signed by the chairman, Elder Patrick Albert and Secretary, Mrs Nkereuwem Bassey, says the stakeholders’ meeting will allow participants to share ideas on the contents of the forthcoming carnival and its overall successes.
The RSVP on the invitation card issued for the stakeholders’ event has the names of Eteidung Rev Aniedi Edet Okon, chairman, Offot Ukwa Clan Council of Chiefs; Eteidung David O. Etuk, Secretary, Offot Ukwa Clan Council of Chiefs; Elder Patrick Albert, chairman, CPC and Mrs Nkereuwem Bassey, Secretary, CPC.
