ADF To Unoma Akpabio At Golden Age: You are rare, compassionate
A renowned socio-political Association, Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum (ADF) has joined other friends and well-wishers worldwide to celebrate the wife of their Grand leader and former Akwa Ibom First Lady, Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, who marks a new beginning today, Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
Mrs Akpabio attains the golden age with accolades and encomiums trailing her path from all segments of the society for her visible humanitarian and philanthropic activities across Nigeria, especially in Akwa Ibom State.
The Director General of ADF, Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, in an emotion laden message to the wife of their Grand Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, described Unoma as a rare personality, a compassionate mother, a devout Catholic and God-fearing Christian.
Ekpo, who traced the various populist achievements recorded by Chief Godswill Akpabio as commissioner, Governor, Senator and presently Minister to her lovely wife’s godly and dependable character, recalled with nostalgia her intimidating and record breaking milestones as Akwa Ibom First Lady between 2007 and 2015.

According to Ekpo, a former member, House of Representatives, “Akwa Ibom State witnessed an uncommon era with the Akpabios. A mother in all ramifications fondly called Eka Esit Mbom walked around the state dishing out milk of human kindness to the less privileged and downtrodden even in the remotest parts of the state. Her humanitarian and charity works knew no bounds; several houses were built for widows and the less privileged. She provided for prisoners variety of food items monthly. Nursing mothers, motherless babies, youths and several others tasted her lavish benevolence; she is still dishing out succour till date.”
The ADF Director General highlighted that even as the wife of then senator and presently Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Unoma Akpabio’s generosity and humanitarian works is still spreading like wild fire across the society, noting that the acts of giving flows in her veins and gives her great satisfaction.
In the words of the DG, “Hers is God’s hands in the affairs of mankind. As the progenitor of Uyai Iban Akwa Ibom, she brought love and unity among our women and became their pillar of strength. She was a big source of joy to parents with multiple births as their daily provisions were provided and till date still pays medical bills for the less privileged people in our society”.
He stressed that the entire ADF family is united in prayers for God’s continuous blessings upon her life, that of her dear husband and her entire family for their selfless services to humanity.
The Director General described the former first lady as a very humble and dependable wife to her husband, a mother of all beyond her biological children and a great humanitarian whose good works will outlive her earthly sojourn.
