A’Ibom Assembly Receives Petitions Against Esit Eket, Ibiono Ibom Council Chairmen Over Alleged Misconducts

Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has received two petitions bordering on gross misconduct against the chairmen of Ibiono Ibom and Esit Eket Local Government Councils.

According to a notice of petition presented to the Speaker by Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Public Petition, Hon. Victor Ekwere, the Ibiono Ibom Council Chairman, Mr. EkomAbasi Akpan, and his Esit Eket counterpart, Engr Iniobong Robson, were petitioned by councillors of their respective local government areas.
The petitions which came up at the plenary last Thursday were referred to the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for immediate action.

Recently, the Assembly suspended the chairmen of Uyo and Nsit Atai Local Government Councils over issues bordering on alleged petitions.
