A’Ibom Harmonises Coordination, Monitoring Of Multilateral And Donor Agencies Projects And Programmes

Assigns Nana Udom, Ephraim Inyang-eyen As Coordinator, Supervisor

Poised to realize the envisaged economic development and objectives of international non-governmental organizations, the Akwa Ibom Government has created a one-stop desk for proper coordination and effective monitoring of all multilateral and donor agencies projects/programmes in the state.

In a circular issued by the secretary to the state government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, to the head of civil service, all commissioners/special advisers, all chairmen of boards/commissions, all permanent secretaries and all heads of extra-ministerial departments and parastatals, the SSG stated clearly that there was an urgent need to ensure proper coordination and monitoring of all programmes and projects under the multilateral and donor agencies category as directed by Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The circular further directed all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) currently coordinating or implementing any project or programme of the donor agencies to submit all relevant documents of the job to the senior special assistant to the governor on multilateral and donor agencies, who henceforth doubles as the coordinator of such programmes and projects for onward submission to the governor’s chief of staff at a given date.

All the information/documents required to be submitted to the SSA/coordinator were properly listed in the circular.
Recall that these projects and programmes were hitherto executed by different ministries and parastatals, hence the need to create a one-stop desk by the government.
“Ministries, departments and agencies are please advised to ensure full compliance and disclosures in their responses,” Ekuwem added.
