Check Rising Unemployment

The high level of unemployment in Nigeria is becoming suffocating and only God knows how school leavers and graduates have been able to cope.

Unfortunately, government looks helpless in the face of the growing unemployment rate and the private sector is not helping either.

But the government should not be despondent or give up its responsibility of providing jobs to its citizenry.

Government should explore all possible means of creating various jobs.

For example, government could adopt the communist era style where thousands of youths could be moved to the farms or project sites and gainfully engaged. It is not the forced labour type but one where the youths get paid for jobs done.

In other words government must devise ways of gainfully engaging and paying them.
