How Well Is Nigeria Prepared for the Olympics?

This is an Olympic year but honestly I have not heard much about Nigeria’s preparedness for the Olympic Games.

Lest we have not realised it, the Olympics have a way on imputing on a nation’s global image.

There is no doubt that Nigeria can use the games to further shore up its image.

For example, Kenya and Ethiopia are widely known today because of the Olympics where both usually excel in long distance races.

Gone were those days when Nigeria was a force in the sprint at the Olympics.

But it seems that sporting activities have been relegated to the back grounds in our hustling lives and thus Nigeria can no longer be counted among the games’ giants.

Having virtually heard nothing about Nigeria’s preparedness for this years Olympics, it therefore seems to me that we would only be there to make up the numbers.
