LG Autonomy: Akwa Ibom State NDDC Rep Hails Tinubu
The Akwa Ibom State representative on the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono, has hailed President Bola Tinubu for granting autonomy to local governments in the country.
He stated this in Eket on Sunday, July 28, 2024, during the enlarged stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Apostle Nkono, who is also the political leader of the APC in Eket LGA, also viewed the Supreme Court judgement that upheld local government autonomy in the country as a sincere step aimed at repositioning and bringing development to local government areas.
The NDDC Commissioner noted that in no distant time, local government areas will witness prosperity, accountability, massive development and effective administration.

He called on state governors and every Nigerian to support the initiatives of the federal government.
Apostle Nkono also lauded the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for sharing in the developmental vision of President Tinubu.
He called on party members to be ready to participate in the local government election, noting that all candidates of the party need support to win the election.
At the meeting, Eket APC Local Government consensus chairmanship candidate Pastor Victor Edon and all councillorship candidates were officially unveiled and presented to the party by the chapter chairman, Pastor Ubong Okposin.
