Push Dakkada Rice Into Market

With the closure of Nigeria’s borders in Operation Green Borders and Yuletide round the corner, the price of rice has gone up astronomically. I learnt that the Akwa Ibom State Government has its own cultivated rice to push into the market.

If done, it would be a welcome development and it is most likely to crash down price of rice. I thank the government for the gesture of showing concern for the well-being of its people.

I will also advise government to put a monitoring mechanism in place to ensure that the rice is not diverted to other purposes, especially by Shylock traders and hoarders.

We are eagerly awaiting the state owned rice and also praying that traders will not take undue advantage of government’s kind gesture to hike price of the rice.
