Stakeholders Advocate Renaissance Of Atai Uyo
...As Nsit Atai Chairman Endorses Ideals Of AUPF
Stakeholders from Uyo, Uruan, Nsit Atai and Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State under the socio-political and cultural organization, Atai Uyo Peoples Forum (AUPF), have made case for the re-enactment of unity, wellbeing and development in the area.
The declaration was made by the group through its President General, Rt. Hon. Tony Asikpo, on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Nsit Atai Local Government Council.
Hon. Asikpo said the visit was an avenue to officially present to the Council Chairman, Rt. Hon. Emem Ibanga, the organization, which he said exists for the promotion of unity, wellbeing and development of Atai Uyo, Akwa Ibom State nay our nation, Nigeria.”
Asikpo noted that the forum has so far given Atai Uyo a united voice for the protection of the common interests and aspirations of the area.

He said the forum has undertaken visitations to royal fathers and eminent personalities in the public and private sectors in the state to brief them of its vision and plans, as well as announced that they are currently planning for scholarship awards to indigent students, empowerment, skill development programme, promotion of professional excellence through awards to distinguished sons and daughters, as well as carry out interventions through the provision of educational resources and medicare among others.”
The group expressed satisfaction with the performance of the council boss, Rt. Hon. Emem Ibanga, saying she has redefined leadership in the the local government area.
He conveyed the appreciation of the group for Governor Udom Emmanuel over some of his administration’s human, infrastructural and economic development projects in Atai Uyo.
They also called for the immortalization of the late Obong Effiong Okon Eyo (Eyo Uyo) for “his heroic roles and sacrifices” particularly on the creation of Akwa Ibom State, and late elder statesman, Chief Nyong Essien.

In her response, the council chairman, Rt. Hon. Emem Ibanga appreciated the forum for deeming it necessary to promote unity and development in the area, noting that “there is nothing we cannot achieve if we work as a team.”
She added that only togetherness can engender sustainable progress and political inclusiveness in Atai Uyo.
She endorsed the ideals of Atai Uyo People’s Forum and accepted to partner with the group to achieve its aims and objectives.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Vice President of the group, Rt. Hon. Tony Essien reaffirmed the forum’s quest for the progress of Atai Uyo, and thanked the council chairman for aligning with the philosophy of Atai Uyo People’s Forum.

The Atai Uyo team also had Elder Iniobong Obot, Secretary; Dr. Roberta Edem, Woman Leader; Barr. Godwin Bassey James, Legal Adviser; Hon. Nathaniel Sebastian Udoh, Director of Contact and Mobilization; Elder Patrick Albert, Publicity Secretary; Hon. Effiong O. Ufe, Organizing Secretary; Samuel Udombang, Financial Secretary; Unwana Orok, Assistant Organizing Secretary.
Others are Hon. Anthony Michael Asuquo, Assistant Secretary; Hon. Elder Nsikak Okon, Assistant Publicity Secretary; Etubom David Jackson, Hon. Ubong Mkpong, Mr. Idorenyin Jacot and Elder Ini Umoren.
