Wike’s Grand Reception: Traditional Ruler Justifies Gesture
The Paramount Ruler of Apara Kingdom in Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality,His Royal Majesty, King Chike Amadi Worlu-Wodo (JP), has justified the reasons why the Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality organised a grand reception for the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike.
He made the justification while fielding questions from Crystal Express in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to him, the reception was well deserved for a son, who has made the Ikwerre people and Rivers State at large proud.
Chronicling Governor Wike’s achievements, Eze Worlu-Wodo said that there is nothing a man is supposed to achieve that the Governor has not achieved, adding that he commenced his political career at a very young age as the Council Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government, then as Chief of Staff of Rivers State Government, to Minister for Education and now the Governor of Rivers State.
He described Wike as an illustrious son who has been able to reconcile the differences between the tribes that make up Rivers State, and wondered why honour should not be given to whom honour is due.
He said that the title “Dike Oha 1 of Ikwerre Land” given to him is a title of all titles as other ethnic nationalities in Rivers State joined the Ikwerre people to give him the honour.
On his advice for Wike, Eze Chike Amadi Worlu-Wodo said he should continue to bring Rivers people together while ensuring that the state is the envy of other states.
He also advised him to keep ruling the state with the fear of God and prayed God to grant him wisdom, knowledge and understanding needed to govern the state.
The Paramount Ruler of Apara Kingdom further advised his fellow traditional rulers to remember that their primary assignment is to ensure peace in their respective domains while seeing themselves as people’s spoke-person.
“We are representing God in our various thrones, we should not do things that will make God regret where He put us. We should know that God is the king maker and that all thrones belong to God,” Eze advised.
He however, maintained that Rivers State has come to stay as its unity should be paramount to all irrespective of the different political divides, stressing that the Peace of the state should be jealously guarded by all.
