To fulfil one of his cardinal responsibilities of representation, the member representing Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara State Constituency, Hon. Jerry Anson Otu took the bull by the horns to improve the well-being of his constituents by providing life-touching projects within his 100 days in office.
The Lawmaker, who is the Chairman of the Committee on Information in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, provided these projects to drive development and progress in the community to improve the living standard of his people, especially women and children.
These life-touching projects include the renovation of the village council hall at Ibiakpan Akanawan Village and Ikot Enwang Village in Ikot Ekpene Area.
A town hall at Nsit Ikpe in Obot Akara Local Government Area has also been renovated as well. These traditional structures which were eyesores were renovated recently to provide a good ambience for meetings and social integration.
To reduce the mortality rates and provide prompt medical emergencies within his constituency, Hon. Otu provided an ambulance bus in lkot Ekpene and one in Obot Akara to improve the well-being of people in rural areas, especially people who need urgent medical attention.

There is also ongoing work to revamp the Solar Powered Borehole at Ibiakpan Akanawan and Ikot Enwang in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area. These social amenities will enable the communities to have access to hygienic water that will enhance their health.
Hon Jerry Otu also provided a Constituency Office to enable him to provide an avenue where issues bothering the communities can be addressed effectively and also give opportunity for people to participate in decision-making that will create positive impacts in the community.
It is imperative to note that Hon. Jerry Otu has more lofty programmes that will provide tourism and human capital development, social re-engineering, security, health, education, agriculture and sport, as he works towards fulfilling the mandate his people entrusted in him.
His profound understanding of fulfilling his legislative duties is a tremendous asset that will drive the development and progress of his constituency and the state at large.
The projects are soon to be formally unveiled.
