The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, acknowledged the Governor’s efforts to offer effective leadership and collaborate with federal agencies to drive development in the state.

According to him, “Akwa Ibom State, as one of the key states of the NDDC, has turned out to be the destination for conferences, seminars, etc. because of the hospitable nature of the people and the world-class infrastructural prowess of the state.”

This, he said, was a result of visionary and result-oriented governance in the state.

Responding, Governor Eno appreciated the board’s resolve to partner with the state government to achieve its mandate.

The governor, however, condemned what he termed the “stand-alone approach of previous boards in carrying out projects in the state that did not yield good results” and hoped the current board would change the narrative.

He observed that the status of the NDDC office was not befitting of the Commission’s status and announced his willingness to allocate an office at the 21-story Dakkada Towers to the Commission at a discounted rate.

The two-day retreat will be held at the prestigious Four Points by Sheraton in Ikot Ekpene from Friday, February 9, to Saturday, February 10, 2024.
