A’Ibom NAWOJ Visits Ikono House Member, Assures On Publicizing Activities Of Lawmakers
The Chairman of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Comrade Nsikak Okon, has reiterated the association’s commitment to publicising the activities and proceedings of lawmakers to the people.
Comrade Okon stated this when she led the state executive members of NAWOJ on a courtesy visit to the member representing Ikono State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Asuquo Nana Udo, at his office in the House of Assembly Complex, Uyo, on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
Represented by her Vice Chairman, Comrade Udeme Hosea, she said members of NAWOJ covering duties at the House of Assembly are at the service of house members and will readily assist them to disseminate information to the people once called upon to do so.
“As professional journalists, we handle reportage covering all areas of interest, such as legislative proceedings, politics, health, sports, and crime, among others, so do well to contact our members in the Assembly when the need arises,” she added.
She maintained that the state chapter of NAWOJ, apart from focusing on developmental journalism, is also passionate about the well-being of the girl child and the women in society and will therefore continue to champion their cause through public awareness campaigns.
