Gov Eno Says APC Primary Demonstrated Unprecedented Vote of Confidence, Renewed Call to Greater Responsibility
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has expressed appreciation to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the confidence reposed in him as the sole candidate of the party in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a special worship and thanksgiving session in Uyo to celebrate the promotion of his son-in-law, Edidiong Ufot, to the rank of Flight Captain, Governor Eno described the ‘endorsement’ as more than a political victory, saying it represented an unprecedented vote of confidence and a renewed call to greater responsibility and dedicated service to the people of the state.
Governor Eno pledged to continue serving Akwa Ibom with dedication and sincerity, stressing that his commitment to the development of the state remains unwavering.

He acknowledged that several communities still require critical infrastructure and other interventions, and assured residents that his administration was reviewing its development blueprint, the ARISE Agenda, in order to strengthen it to better address identified gaps in performance.
The Governor also appreciated party members for the support given to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the primaries, saying the President was fulfilling promises made to him, including that of listing the Ibom Deep Seaport for priority attention.

He noted that the recent listing has renewed investor confidence, with some investors who previously withdrew reindicating interest in the project.

Governor Eno called on the citizenry to continue to support President Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda for the state to benefit more from the federal government.
On the 2027 general elections, Governor Eno urged candidates of the different political parties to focus on practical solutions to development, maintain decorum, ensure issue-based campaigns, avoid name-calling and stop campaigns of calumny.
He appreciated everyone who joined him at the event to honour Captain Ufot, whom he described as not only a son-in-law but his son, and prayed that God would continue to preserve him and grant him the grace to keep flying higher.

Earlier in his remarks, Captain Ufot appreciated Governor Eno and his wife, Jayne, for their encouragement and support over the years, which, according to him, has translated to his current status.
