Ibiono Ibom Youth Leaders Confer Award Of Excellence On Dr. Umoren, Others
The Ibiono Ibom Traditional Clan/Village Youth Leaders have honoured Dr. Marshall Umoren for his many philanthropic activities as well as his benevolent spirit in executing human capacity development schemes.
Dr. Marshall Umoren was conferred with an Award of Excellence as Oyoho Iberedem Mkparawa Ibiono Ibom at the Annual Get-Together Party held at the Ibiono Ibom Traditional Rulers Council Hall, Okoita, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
Presenting the award to Dr. Umoren, the International President of the Forum of Ibiono Ibom Traditional Clan/Village Youth Leaders (Mboho Mme Etubom Akparawa), Etubom Edem Ita Thompson described him as a very patriotic son who has made Ibiono Ibom proud through his many philanthropic activities.
In Etubom Ita’s words, “We have the privilege to honour you today in recognition of your excellent and outstanding contributions to the development of our community and humanity, as well as your recorded achievements in sports development.”
“The recent soccer competition tagged ‘Ibiono Ibom Grand Fiesta 2023: Eleven As One Soccer Tournament’ you graciously sponsored in conjunction with High Towers Foundation and Sportgate Limited has further promoted the unity and development of soccer talents. The one million Naira (N1,000,000,000) prize money will enhance sports development in our communities,” Etubom Ita added.

Dr. Umoren, a US-based medical professional, thanked Etubom Ita and the entire leadership of the forum for the honor. He further described the award as motivation and assured them he would continue to do his best for his people, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and humanity in general.
While reiterating his resolve to continue the good work, he said, “I’m further motivated by this award to do more for my people and humanity in general. I will continue to give back to society, and I will also reach out to our brothers and sisters in the diaspora so we can all contribute our quota to the development of our communities. There’s a lot of work to be done back home. We need to build infrastructure and improve the quality of life for our people.”
