Immediate Past Chairman Of ICSAN Congratulates Gov Emmanuel On The Completion Of 21-Storey Smart Complex

The successful completion of the 21-storey smart complex otherwise known as the Dakkada Towers by the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel has attracted commendation from a renowned management expert.

The immediate past chairman, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, ICSAN, Akwa Ibom State chapter, Elder Aniedi Amos says the edifice is a worthy testimonial of Gov Emmanuel.

He said, “I congratulate Governor Udom Emmanuel on the successful completion of the 21-storey smart complex otherwise known as the Dakkada Towers.

Elder Amos, who stated this while interacting with The Pioneer recently in Uyo, said with the completion of the Dakkada Towers and the edifice being ready for lease to interested tenants, Akwa Ibom is set for world businesses.

He recalled that the smart building which is one of Emmanuel’s mega projects in the state is the tallest in the South South region of the country, commending the governor’s vision in constructing the project, saying, it will boost the economy of the state.

Recalling also that the historic project which was conceived by Emmanuel’s administration, which contracted the construction to VKS Nigeria Construction Limited, was to be completed in two and a half years according to the contractual agreement between government and the construction firm, Amos lauded the contractors for being able to finish the project in less than two years.

According to Amos, the leasing of the project to clients will increase the internally generated revenue, IGR of the state, provide employment and also boost the economy, thanking governor Udom Emmanuel whom he described as a leader committed to the overall development of the state in all sectors, for his wisdom in initiating the project which he added will outlive him after his tenure.

He called for proper supervision and maintenance of the project by the authorities concerned, even as occupants of the building should ensure its proper maintenance and protection from damage.

The smart office complex, a flagship of Emmanuel’s administration, located in the central business district of Uyo, is the most ICT compliant intelligence structure.

With the Tower as high as 108.8 meters, the 21-storey Five star business accommodation occupies a construction area of 18,639.50 meters square on a massive site area of 48,200.00 meters square, making room for a 500 capacity car park.

The much talked-about project which comes with all the attractions and safety mechanism needed of a smart building is handled by a Turkish construction company, VKS.

The Tower which has added aesthetics to the landscape will run 24 hours power supply and maintains all necessary facilities and equipment of a smart building including four elevators; two emergency exit; fire protection sensors and aviation wing, while the ground floor is designed to accommodate banks and canteens, even as the mechanical floor controls sewage and takes care of waste disposal.

From the second to the twentieth floor, seamless office accommodations are provided to end-users, while the 21st floor is a terrace where guests, tourists and investors can stand to have a glimpse of the beautiful landscape of the capital city.
